The mission of the Count Basie Theatre's Performing Arts
Academy is to offer
opportunities to all people to participate in and to understand the arts. Our
workshops and classes are designed to help each student achieve their full
potential while opening their eyes to the infinite possibilities that lie
within their grasp. Our goal as educators is to instill a passion, appreciation
and love of the arts. Besides enhancing one's perspective and interpersonal
skills, such as communication, cooperation and creative problem solving, arts
education is truly a magical elixir that raises one's self -esteem,
self-efficacy and confidence. We are pleased to know that we are "making a
difference" as we spread our enthusiasm and passion for the performing arts to
our students and to the community. With consistent exposure to the performing
arts the possibilities are infinite, the benefits long lasting and the journey
as wild as the wildest imagination!
